|| The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo || Taylor Jenkins Reid || Book Review 4.5⭐️||

Honest, Unapologetic, Addictive.

Monique Grant is a biracial young woman, trying to make it in the world of Journalism. Still coming to terms with her impending divorce, she receives a call that legendary star Evelyn Hugo wants her to be the one to write an article about her life. Why will Evelyn only work with Monique? And why does she finally want to tell her story, all these years later?

This is one of the most breathtaking stories I’ve read about true love and friendship. It makes me so incredibly sad, to think of how many people are living with secrets and lies, just to hide who they truly are. This book deals with so many different issues in such an upfront way, delivering them with compassion and rawness. I loved the protagonist of Evelyn, even with all her faults and flaws. My only criticism would be that we didn’t get time to explore much about Monique and her life, as a reader I wanted a little bit more about her.

Covers SO many different issues still relevant to today. Racism, Homophobia, Domestic Violence, Media pressure, Underage exploitation to name a few. 🖤
