|| The Recovery of Rose Gold || Stephanie Wrobel || Book Review - 5⭐️ ||

Twisted, complex, rollercoaster.

Rose Gold testifies against her mother Patty at 18, locking her away for making her ill for her whole childhood. When Patty is released 5 years later, Rose Gold is there to pick her up and restart seemingly where they left off, as if nothing has happened. Is it too good to be true?

My adrenaline was sky high throughout the whole read, it is disturbing and heart wrenching at the same time. I can’t even imagine what Rose Gold went through, with her mother Patty having a serious case of Münchausen syndrome by proxy. I loved the twists and turns throughout, flashing forward and back between the time that Patty was in prison and how Rose Golds life plays out then and now.

The characters are imperfect and have sharp jagged edges, which makes them even more compelling. I completely did not see the ending coming at all, it echoes greats such as Gone Girl.

A fantastic debut novel!
