It wasn’t what I was expecting....
It pains me to say it, but I struggled to gel with the characters in this book. I found that I just ‘liked’ the main protagonist, nothing much more than that.
It tells the story of Susan, forty something, pregnant and single, whose mother has just passed away and she ends up in a battle with her brother over the will. Susan is very clinical, set in her ways and closed off and determined to win her half of her mother’s estate.
I found that it was a hard read at the start and it took a good two thirds of the book for me to start to enjoy the storyline. It wasn’t a bad book, just a bit forgettable and not for me unfortunately.
