|| Ocean’s Fire || Stacey L. Tucker || Book Review 3.5/5⭐️||
Spiritual, empowering, mythical.
It follows Skylar, a young trainee veterinarian who has just lost her mother to cancer. She is entrusted with a book, a book that contains stories about her past and her future, an akashic book. She is drawn back to her first love, Argan but finds a fork in the road when Joshua appears and she feels a deep pull towards him too. The mystical book has many secrets that will start to throw her whole life course into disarray.
The book has strong feminist themes throughout, with multiple heroines appearing to try and guide Skylar on her path. It felt like it was setting the scene for the rest of the trilogy, with many new characters being introduced and the storyline very complex, whilst the ground work was being laid.
I enjoyed getting to grips with the multitude of different characters, but found parts quite hard to get through, as though the story was jumping around a little bit. It also incorporated multiple spiritual teachings, so if you find yourself drawn towards those themes, then you will enjoy this book.
I’m excited to see where the rest of the story heads in the next two books!
Thank you to @staceyltucker for sending me her trilogy to read in exchange for honest reviews. I can’t wait to get stuck in to your next two books.
